Friday March 19,99  Saba

As planned we arrived shortly after daybreak in Saba.  The trip was choppy but we get really used to that and so everything went smooth. We checked in early with Customs & Immigration and decided to jump in the water for a dive.   Saba has recently changed the rules for Yachts, so we had to dive with an local diveoperator.   We worked with  John's SeaSaba  ( http://www.seasaba.com ) and did two morning dives.   One deep dive to the Outer Limits pinnacle and the other a fairly shallow dive close to shore. We enjoyed both dives, liked the first one better though. More to see and great visibility.

And here are two more new temporary crew members:    Angelica Butler is 24 and lived in South Miami Beach.  She is a Dive Instructor and will be a general deckhand and help with the diving on board the STARSHIP.

Steven Shorey is 28 and lived in Jupiter Florida before he joined the STARSHIP Crew.  He is spending a good deal of his time in the engineroom right now.  He is a Divemaster and was Captain on the Deep Obsession, one of Jim & Anna Abernathy's Scuba Adventures dive boats out of West Palm Beach.

We welcome both volunteers on Board the STARSHIP and hope they have great time and use the chance to learn a lot about our beautiful planet.

This afternoon we left SABA and started our trip down to Dominica, a great Volcanic Island with waterfalls and boiling lakes.  We should arrive late on Saturday morning.

See you tomorrow.
