Gday
How was youre weekend? Good I trust. Once again Im writing and the waves
are threatening to really annoy me. Does it ever get flat calm in the Caribbean for more
than one day? Frustration hardly describes my sentiment at present. So, we saw a glimpse
of the Caicos, though I think Pius saw the most as he went to shore for a little
provisioning. Michael saw the inside of the customs house and also managed a dive on west
Caicos with Christian and Helmut. Those of you that have been with us since the beginning
may remember Christian Stark who headed the Microsoft task force for the STARSHIP project.

Helmut underwater, he just found a conch (and put it
down again).
He has taken a few well deserved days off to see what he
put all those ours of extra work in for. From what I gather, hes in heaven at the
moment. Helmut has visited us from Germany. As journalist, he works for On-line magazine
and is here to write an article on us.

Helmut Achatz onboard STARSHIP
You should have seen his face when he found out today that he to must do a watch! I
think that it is important that all our guests are somewhat integrated into the STARSHIP
goings on, particularly if they are journalists. It gives them a broader idea/context on
what life here may be all about. I think at times some of the journalists overseas have
but a smidgen of inkling about what actually goes on out here. I often get the feeling
that many think wherever we go seas are calm, the water is blue and life is pretty much a
beach. I dont think so. Sure we have it easier than many other cruisers out there
but the planning and organization that goes into going from a to b is not quite as
straight forward as buying a ticket from New York to Boston.
Right guys, thats it from me for today.
Take care
Rich
